The Department of the Interior (DoI) has data on a huge range of topics about the landscape of the US (legally protected areas, hydrology, glaciers, parks, the national register of historic places, etc.)

It matters for environmental and cultural heritage conservation, respect of treaty rights with Tribal nations, and more.

I’m wondering however if this is already captured by Harvard: Preserving Public U.S. Federal Data | Library Innovation Lab
